We opened our doors on Memorial Day 2025 with a vision to celebrate American Single Malt Whiskey – the most innovative category in American whiskey today. Little Wolf was founded by longtime whiskey friends Jonathan Odde and Clarke Boyer. Jonathan, along with the Odde family, owns The Burns Pub in Broomfield, home to an insane collection of more than 600 whiskies with a strong focus on Single Malt Scotch. Clarke brings more than 20 years of experience in the whiskey industry. He began his career as a distiller at Stranahan’s, Colorado’s first legal distillery and one of the defining producers of American Single Malt. Jonny and Clarke set out to create a genuine gathering place for North Denver — a relaxed, unpretentious spot where neighbors can enjoy interesting food and spirits.
We began our culinary journey with a bit of a fancier menu built around whiskey pairings, but it didn’t take long to realize that the perfect partner for great whiskey is a great burger. After about a year we reinvented the kitchen, joining forces with Jonathan’s brother Chris Odde. Chris had recently sold his beloved Mojo 99, a popular burger joint and speakeasy in Westminster. He brought his expertise to Little Wolf, along with his fiancée Susan Eisman, retooling the kitchen and elevating the menu around Colorado Wagyu smashed burgers.
Our beef comes from Cross Creek Ranch in Hesperus, Colorado, near Durango — a certified humane ranch that specializes in Wagyu. The meat arrives exceptionally fresh and is cold-smoked in-house for 120 minutes at 37°, giving every burger a subtle backyard BBQ character.
We remain the World’s First American Single Malt Whiskey Bar, passionately dedicated to introducing this exciting category to whiskey lovers. Our cocktail program features quality juices and citrus squeezed fresh daily.
Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen is a gluten-conscious environment: the only gluten-containing item is our standard burger bun, toasted in a dedicated Glutinator and handled separately. The rest of the menu is prepared with care for allergies and dietary needs, and we fry in highly refined peanut oil, considered safe for most folks with peanut allergies.
Little Wolf occupies a building with history. We pay a lot of respect to Café Brazil, our predecessor, which occupied the space for 18 years. We build on their legacy and continue to evolve, keeping the energy fresh and vibrant for North Denver. Above all, warm hospitality sits at the heart of everything we do. Family-friendly and always welcoming is our top priority.
The name Little Wolf comes from the Old French meaning of “Lowell,” the boulevard we face toward the afternoon sun.
